Accountant Manager

Our team is currently seeking an Accountant Manager to join the team, Clarksville, TN.

This position is responsible for statutory accounting, treasury, and-financial analysis for contracts, programs, projects, and legal entities. Must have a strong knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, revenue recognition, and matching principles. The Accountant Manager will have strong reconciliation skills and assist with Audits and Taxes. They work directly with CFOs, controllers, other executive-level team members, regional leaders, project/program managers, and operational clerks to account for, control, monitor, analyze and report financial information.  Accountant Manager will report to the Director of Finance and Accounting or his/her designee.

Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

At this position level, the individual is responsible for:

Monthly recurring accounting entries. Compile and enter monthly accruals. Revenue recognition - EAC, ETBAR, Cost Plus, % Complete, & T&M. Reconciliation of balance sheet including prepaids, deposits, interest, AP/expense accruals, AR, unbilled, etc. Reconciling the company's bank statements. Researching general ledger and trial balances. Analysis of employee expenditures including healthcare. Managing income and expenditure accounts and departments. Generating the company's financial reports. Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations. Managing financial and accounting software used by the company. Maintain legal and reporting entities. Provide financial impact analyst to help Operations make financial decisions. Provide analysis and insight into accounting and financial improvements. Ensure that all employees are properly trained.

Knowledge and Skills

7+ years' experience in accounting. 2+ years' experience in managing people, processes, and projects. Experience in Construction business is a plus. Accounting degree. Government Contractor experience is a plus. Solid understanding of accounting and payroll fundamentals including revenue recognition and accruals. Experience with EAC, ETC, burn rate and% complete. Understanding of contract types, FFP, FPAF, CP, CPAF, CPFF, T&M, etc. Knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS and DCAA guidelines including rate application and pools. Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software and databases. Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality. Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail. Excellent communication skills.
