Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Accountant (Reporting Analyst-Power BI) to join our GFSO Reporting Tower -Global Finance Services Division.
The Reporting Analyst (Power BI) will have the opportunity to develop and support the Power BI system solution functionality of one or more applications or business to support our Accountable Reporting transition to an Operations Center of Excellence. This role will partner with Strategy & Execution Business Manager and Senior Staff Accountant to design and develop key data visualizations for Global Finance Transformation group. In addition to ensuring a successful reporting standardization and transition, the role offers opportunity to identify and lead onboarding future processes. This position will work closely with business units across the enterprise and the Global Finance Strategy team to ensure alignment of processes for Caterpillar.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore, Whitefield-PSN Office
What you will do
Creating reports on financial performance for internal use as per the set corporate guidelines and standard frameworkSupporting monthly closing timelines, with data validations, new reports and partnering with Corporate consolidations group.Validate solution design, including prototyping and configuration for an application or processValidate process documentation for the application or processParticipate in test script creation for new content releases or deployments for an application or processEstablish business rules for the use of an application or processEstablish security data classifications for the application or processBusiness escalation point for any conflicts or concerns with the application or processRepresent the application or process with other areas of the business who use or integrate with this part of the businessSeek input from relevant areas of the business that should have inputs to this application or processUnderstanding, evaluating and reacting to routine problems or situations with external contacts is also part of this assignmentInteraction within the framework of existing business policies and practices and/or established business relationshipsProblems and issues usually involve careful interpretation, analysis or diagnosisIdentify the nature of a complex or undefined problem and then develop the best solution or application from numerous alternativesDevelop well-prepared action plans for the current year and has a clear sense of what needs to be achieved in the year to come. Strong communication and presentation skills among various organizations Ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholder groups (process, technology, HR/organization, etc.) to drive outcomes Experience in working in a matrix organization structure with global stakeholders from different time zones.This position requires a high level of strategic analysis, problem solving, financial business acumen and governance background with prior exposure in financial close Prior FP&A or reporting experience supporting cross-functional stakeholders, managing multiple and complex data sources with great attention to detailThe incumbent must have experience working in a global environment and have a global mentality Expert in Power BI data structure, Power BI Visualizations, Power BI DAX, SQL, Power Query and knowledge of Excel, and PowerPointWorking under uncertain circumstances and global/diverse environmentTop Candidate Will Also Have:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.5-10 years of relevant experience in the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, PowerApps and Power Automate)Additional Details:
