\nThe core responsibility of the Accountant – Income Audit & Costing is to check that all charges raised by each department have been properly posted to guests accounts or otherwise accounted for, the correct procedures have been followed and that all daily income that should have been received by the hotel was received.
\nThe role aims to be recognized as a trusted finance team member. This role supports the finance lead in all training and development activities to develop best-in-class finance professionals and assists in developing their finance team. This role supports a robust control and compliance environment and contributes to implement EMEA Operations Finance innovations and projects.

What will I be doing?
\nAs Accountant – Revenue Audit / F&B Cost Control, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
\n• Audit the daily revenue figures, supporting reports and vouchers as well as audit the daily General Cashier’s Report.
\n• Ensure that Daily and Monthly Revenue and Settlement Reconciliation is prepared on a timely basis and all revenue is captured and reported.
\n• Ensure all gifts or entertainment voucher are controlled as per the policy.
\n• Review all entertainment dockets and officers’ checks, ensuring that all are authorized and signed with the appropriate level of detail.
\n• Check that complimentary rooms have been appropriately authorized.
\n• Audit the telephone and internet interface reports to ensure all the respective revenue has been posted.
\n• Ensure the relevant Front Office and Outlet reports are printed, audited and filed in chronological order.
\n• Verify transactions posted in the daily report, including but not limited to credit cards, city ledger, crew allowances, paid outs, allowances and rebates, miscellaneous charges, voiding, car park revenues, and room safe keys.
\n• Prepare rebate and allowance summary and rebate journal.
\n• Reconcile credit card charges between electronic credit card machine and point of sale system on a daily basis.
\n• Prepare daily revenue report for the Director of Finance / Financial Controller.
\n• Ensure that all concessionaires’ revenue is reconciled and recorded accurately.
\n• Check the Room Rate Discrepancy Report to ensure that all rate changes, upgrades, etc. have been properly authorized.
\n• Ensure that the Room Status Discrepancy Report is printed twice daily, and any exceptions noted are reported.
\n• Record cashier overs / under in the relevant reports and followed up with the Outlet Managers or Front Office Manager.
\n• Follow up on any discrepancies, incomplete work or missing information with the relevant departments.
\n• Ensure all paid out vouchers have proper authorization, signatures and backup.
\n• Follow up with Revenue / Reservation team to ensure that no-shows are reviewed, and charges made accordingly.
\n• Audit the daily food and beverage report, verifying the cashier’s remittance to the General Cashier’s Report.
\n• Ensure that all restaurant and bar checks are properly accounted for and banquets and functions revenues are entered.
\n• To be fully conversant with the hotel Manual Contingency Plan in case of computer system failure and ensure that all manual procedures are followed and adhered to.
\n• Ensure the accurate and timely input of data to the general ledger system.
\n• Maintain adequate and up to date files.
\n• Conduct monthly house float and petty cash count and safety deposit boxes audit.
\n• Check and ensure that room variance reports are properly kept and interpreted, reporting any unreasonable variance promptly.
\n• Handle all requests and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
\n• Flexible in relation to working hours, especially at month end.
\n• Perform any additional tasks assigned to ensure that the department functions smoothly.
\n• Minimize the risks of accidents and workers compensation costs by ensuring the correct work practices are used and that the area is safe from hazards.
\n• Analyzes Food & Beverage costs and controls factors to ensure the implementation of cost-effective measures throughout the Food & Beverage department. This role prepares various reports and conducts weekly meetings to keep departments and directors apprised of trends and cost factors. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards
\n• Plans and directs actions to be performed to correct activities harmful to the profitability of our food & beverage department.
\n• Assists in any other way deemed necessary for the efficient overall operation of the Finance Department in full compliance with the policy, regulatory and contractual framework.
\n• Business partner with all hotel finance team members, the F&B department.
\n• Participate in all relevant Finance training and development programs. In case of a joint job role any responsibility relevant joint job descriptions will apply in accordance with Hilton’s job segregation policies.

\nAn Accountant - Revenue Audit / F&B Cost Control serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
\n• University Degree, preferably in Commerce, Accounting & Management or any other Accounting qualification.
\n• Previous experience in a managerial operational accounting role.
\n• At least 1 year of working experience as Income Auditor Supervisor in the hospitality industry.
\n• Knowledge of F&B cashiering, front desk cashiering and night audit.
\n• IT qualification (Fidelio & Micros)/ training.
\n• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
\n• Good communication and analytical skills.
\n• Possess system skills in OnQ, OPERA, Micros, SUN.
\n• Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts, and projections
\n• Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate
\n• Ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems
\n• Ability to help develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate
\n• Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities
\n• Detail oriented and organized
\n• Ability to develop presentations and effectively present to all levels of company, hotels & owners.
\n• Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)
\n• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new programs when required
