The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the North Perry Airport is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accountant Senior Financial Operations to work in the Aviation's Finance Division. This advanced professional accountant works on the maintenance and review of financial records. The work involves performing more complex accounting duties in the Airport's Finance Division such as developing, revising, and installing accounting procedures and forms. The employee supervises a staff of subordinate accountants and nonprofessional employees. The employee exercises considerable independent judgment with established policies and procedures. Work is reviewed through periodic external audits and the evaluation of various reports.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or finance; or a bachelor's degree and coursework that qualifies for the CPA Examination.

Be a subject matter expert on all aspects of the PeopleSoft AR module.
Be able to review and approve payment applications on the PeopleSoft system.
Prepare monthly Collections Reports and hold monthly meetings with airlines and business divisions to review customer accounts and coordinate efforts to resolve problem accounts.
Provide external audit support.
This position will be the second in command to the AR Team representing the Manager of Financial Operations as needed.
Experience with ERP, preferably PeopleSoft, General Ledger and AR Module
