Position Description
Position will be responsible for recording various activities for Midstream gathering and processing assets including reviewing contracts, analyzing volumes and analysis, billing customers, and preparing reports. As part of the operational analysis of the gathering systems and plant, the candidate must adhere to all SOX processes and controls, test systems, and interact with customers, upstream and downstream departments, and Commercial staff.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for monthly journal entry preparation & analysis of operational purchase, sale, and other processing and gathering transactionsResponsible for coordinating plant and gathering system closes including timely payments to producersResponsible for running PPAs for multiple assetsAnalyze plant L&U (Lost & Unaccounted for Gas) for reasonablenessResponsible for reconciling and managing various third party and intercompany natural gas liquids marketing activityResponsible for coordinating and verifying various closing accounting worksheets for the Internal Financial packageAssist in responding and coordinating various audits requests; including but not limited to SOX internal audits and external auditsPrepare and analyze Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations in Blackline softwarePrepare internal and external company reports, including reports to regulatory agencies and industry associations pertaining to purchase, production, sales, and exchange of natural gas and natural gas liquidsPrepare and remit severance tax to governmental agenciesClear/resolve A/R balances on a timely basis for assigned assetsRespond timely to both internal and external partiesAbility to perform Special Projects as assigned, including participation in systems development and testingUpdate documentation (manuals, procedures, etc.) as required Position Requirements
The candidate should have an Accounting Degree with a minimum of 5 years of Accounting experience, and a strong working knowledge of the energy industry, volumetric gas accounting and financial reporting experienceCandidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the oil and gas industryExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written are needed to effectively communicate with various levels of managementAdvanced Excel skills and experience with gas accounting systems (TIPS experience a plus)Must be self-motivated, able to multitask, and work independentlyMust be able to function well in a team environmentStrong critical thinking ability is required to analyze plant activities and apply GAAP accordingly
