Position: Accountant Supervisor 2
Agency: Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA)
Division: Executive/Accounting
Office Location: 150 Terrace Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA
Responsibilities:
+ Supervises DWH Project Accounting Staff, ensuring accurate project budget management, expenditure monitoring, and resolution of budget issues for CPRA projects.
+ Manages overall budgeting and accounting for DWH CPRA projects, providing guidance on financial processes, expenditure research, and reporting for internal and external entities.
+ Assists in internal and external audits by coordinating documentation, analysis, and responses with agency and subordinate personnel.
+ Administers RESTORE Act, NFWF, and DWH NRDA programs, coordinating with federal agencies, the US Treasury, and the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council.
+ Reviews expenditure reports to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines and program regulations, advising program managers on cost status and allowable charges.
+ Oversees financial reporting, including annual NRDA cost reporting through the NOAA DIVER portal and updates to sponsors, Executive Management, and project staff.
+ Oversees grant billings for DWH projects in LaGov, ensuring accuracy, timely fund receipt, and issue resolution while reporting concerns to leadership.
+ Directs the preparation of specialized DWH financial reports using LaGov and AFS, ensuring clarity and alignment with upper management’s reporting needs.
Required Skills:
+ Experience with LaGov ERP (Finance modules).
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to prioritize work load while managing and collaborating with a team.
+ Acute attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
The maximum salary for the Accountant Supervisor 2 is $ $91,894 annually.
Below is the bi-weeklyminimumhire rate established for this position in accordance with CPRA’s Special Entrance Rate Policy:

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license plus one year of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking.

Examples of Work
Analyzes data, extracts information, prepares applications for automated systems, and manipulates information in the preparation of complex financial reports and schedules.
Ensures that accurate internal ledgers and records are maintained and are reconciled periodically with reports generated by ISIS, agency Accounting Services Division, or equivalent.
Responsible for oversight of posting and journalizing ledgers and preparing financial accounts reports.
Communicates with public and private accountants; state, federal, and independent auditors; banks; brokerage firms; and program or management personnel for the purpose of providing information and technical assistance needed to resolve problems.
Confers with administrators regarding problem areas, making recommendations for increasing efficiency, and for changing procedures.
