Are you an ACA or ACCA part qualified / finalist accountant, looking to join a leading global firm?
Aon are currently recruiting an Accountant to join our expanding Controllership team in London. The Accountant will be primarily responsible for Assisting and supporting the Broking Entities Controller and Assistant Controller, Controlling revenue and expense postings to the General Ledger from accruals and manual journals, including advising on complex subjects (multi-year revenue accruals) and Obtaining a detailed understanding of the business P&L, budget and forecast and ensuring appropriate reporting to the Aon UK Limited Board and Audit Committee.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office.

What the day will look like
Support the Broking Entities Controller in delivering effective Financial Reporting and Controls by:
+ Completing activities within the financial reporting process to time and without material errors and working to resolve internal and external audit issues
+ Reconciling revenue and expenses (including accruals) to source subsystems
+ Reviewing aged reconciliations for non-fiduciary balance sheet accounts and ensuring reconciling items are identified and cleared through working with the business
+ Understanding and consistently applying revenue and expense recognition policies
+ Work effectively with internal and external auditors and meet their requirements
+ Help Aon effectively manage costs by meeting goals of cost reduction
Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ ACA or ACCA part qualified / Finalist
+ Accountant experience in financial control activities preferable
+ Preferable current knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting
+ Strong analytical skills and experience with financial reporting and data analysis
+ Prepared to seek resolution to queries and issues and is comfortable working across disciplines and to tight deadlines
