Accounting - Accounts Receivable Print (https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/mukilteo/jobs/newprint/4783549) Apply  Accounting - Accounts Receivable Salary $61,210.80 - $74,402.16 Annually Location Mukilteo, WA Job Type Full-time Job Number 2024-00122 Department Finance Department Opening Date 01/08/2025 FLSA Non-Exempt Bargaining Unit OCT + Description + Benefits + Questions Description Under direct supervision, the Senior Department Assistant with a focus on Accounts Receivables and Account Reconciliation performs a variety of higher level complex, specialized, and responsible clerical duties in support of department management and/or supervisory staff. Essential Duties • Assumes clerical responsibility for an assigned program area involving maintaining appropriate records, preparing necessary reports, and serving as an information source for the program as assigned. • Provides office support as assigned, involving the performance of a broad range of administrative tasks, including ensuring that work is handled on a priority basis and completed in a timely manner. • Supervises, trains, evaluates, and assigns work of other departmental clerical staff. • Plans, organizes, designs, maintains and oversees departmental record keeping systems and/or programs. • Answers telephones and greets visitors, providing information and assistance on departmental and City policies and procedures. • Prepares minor reports and compiles information. • Provides information and forms as needed; applies departmental policies and procedures in determining completeness of applications, forms, records, and reports. • Types and proofreads a variety of documents including general correspondence, meeting minutes, agendas, reports, memoranda and statistical charts from rough draft, recordings or verbal instruction. • Performs a wide variety of general clerical work including the maintenance of accurate and detailed logs, records, verifying accuracy of information, researching discrepancies and recording information. • Processes accounts payable and purchase orders, etc. for department by assigning correct account numbers and reviewing charges. • Orders, receives, and organizes materials and supplies. • May oversee, schedule, and manage department activity calendars, meeting rooms, and multi-media projector. • Registers employees for specialized training and travel. • Supervises petty cash and credit cards use; compiles accounts payable and assigns appropriate budget/tracking numbers to purchase requisitions and invoices. • May transcribe and prepare meeting minutes; may prepare department/ agenda packets and distribute; prepares and posts public notices. • Uses modern computerized equipment and software programs. • Performs others duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Required: • Modern office practices, procedures and methods. • English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation. • Filing and record keeping systems. • Office equipment and operations. • Personal computer software including Word, Excel, Access and various inventory and maintenance management systems. • Establish effective working relationships. • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. • Exercise initiative and sound judgment. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Duties are performed in an office environment with some fieldwork. Employee must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees must be able to perform multiple work tasks at the same time, perform well with frequent interruptions, and tolerate a fairly high level of stress. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Qualifications Minimum Educational and Experience Qualifications: Any equivalent combination of education, which provides the applicant with knowledge, skills and abilities, required to perform the job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and ability would be: • High school graduation or G.E.D. equivalence with additional course work or training in computers, office equipment, accounting or purchasing procedures. • Three years of increasingly responsible clerical experience including customer relations, purchasing or accounting responsibilities. Licenses and/or Certificates: Washington State driver's license.
