What’s the role?
We are seeking a detail oriented and motivated Entry Level Accounting Administrator to join our dynamic team. This position will provide essential day to day support to our SMT US accounting, finance and operations departments, coordinating with the various functional areas to achieve specific tasks related to the accounting and financial goals of the division as it transitions to new processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a basic understanding of accounting principles, and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.

Here’s what you’ll do:
Support the proper delegation and coding of vendor invoices into accounting software, ensuring accurate and organized transaction records.
Manage vendor relations, including overdue follow-ups, invoice submissions, and statement reviews.
Prepare and organize supporting documentation for accounting processes.
Input and process data accurately in the database, using technical knowledge to add value.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Prepare and submit journal entries as needed for accurate financial reporting.
Identify and execute process improvement opportunities related to accounting tasks.
Ad Hoc Support
Provide feedback to teams for process and cost improvement initiatives.
Offer operational support to ensure accurate presentation of accounting data.
Assist with internal and external audits as required.
Undertake additional accounting duties and projects as assigned.
Do you qualify?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in a related field
Previous internship in an accounting or finance related role is a plus
Proven ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data
Strong business acumen and sense of accountability/ownership
Proven ability to build strong working relationships and influence business partners across organizations
Demonstrated time management skills; ability to multi-task, manage competing deadlines, prioritize effectively and function effectively in a fast paced environment
Technical aptitude with ERP tools such as SAP/CRM
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, with experience using Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and charting
Willingness to collaborate and contribute to team goals
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a multinational corporation with a diverse global customer base
Experience with project management methodologies
Working Conditions and Special Demands:
This is an office/hybrid position and will require minimal travel
There will be a need for flexible work and overtime hours
Compensation:
The annual pay range for this position is $65,000 – $81,000
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
