Accounting Administrator
Job Title: Accounting Administrator Job Description Aston Carter is looking for an Accounting Admin for our client in Calgary to facilitate the processing of all incoming and outgoing accounting mail. This role works closely with the claims payment team to ensure timely payment to members and providers. The Accounting Administrator will also work closely with the general accounting team to provide support in all areas related to the incoming and outgoing mail, as well as cheques received through mail for Accounts Receivable (invoices) or returned claims payments that require further analysis. Responsibilities + Open and scan all returned mail by line of business on a daily basis. + Print and apply postage to all outgoing accounting mail daily. + Assist with pulling bank reports. + Monitor cheques & printing inventory and make routine orders as needed. + Monitor postage on hand & request fund replenishments. + Retain & file all courier receipts. + Sort incoming AR cheques from claims related cheques & deposit payments to the appropriate bank account. + Track all unidentified cheques received for claims and provide to the accounting team on a weekly basis. + Send daily remittance advice to our providers for all payments made that day. + Support the AP team during periods of high volume to process payments in Great Plains and through the bank. + Support the claims payment team with daily sanction checks and monitoring of all payments held. Must-haves: + Administration, mail, and scanning experience. + Willingness to work on-site 100% (with potential to work 2 days per month from home). + Prior administrative experience including mail, records maintenance, and scanning. + Accounting degree or diploma. + Strong command of the English language. + Data entry skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. + Administrative support experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Great Plains or similar software. + Experience in client-facing roles in any industry. + Prior experience working in a compliance-focused role. + Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment. Work Environment This role reports to the Sr. Accounting Manager and operates Monday to Friday, starting between 7-8 am. The environment is structured and professional, working with a claims admin team of five, and interacting with the treasury analyst and accounting team. The total team size is approximately 20. The office is located on the 20th floor with amazing mountain views and an open floor plan. It is close to the C Train and attached to the +15. There is a gym in the building, which is subsidized. The office environment is fairly quiet. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Calgary,AB.
