Accounting Analyst, Fixed Assets (Spanish, English)

Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience. + 4 years of experience working in accounting or a related function. + Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently in order to liase with internal stakeholders. Preferred qualifications: + CPA. + Proven track record as a problem solver with experience running large, cross-functional projects that span offices, teams, geographies, etc. + Knowledge of SQL for database analysis and proficiency with Data Visualization tools. + Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, combined with impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate effectively with senior management. + Excellent leadership, project management, organizational, communication, people, and teamwork skills. The gFA (Google Fixed Assets) team manages the global accounting for Google’s entire Cap Ex portfolio, manufacturing operations and related expenses. This infrastructure is at the foundation of Google - the global data centers, networks and integrating hardware and software that powers both our unique customer products and services and our internal operations. As a member of this team, you'll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. As an Accounting Analyst on the team you'll be focused on maintaining our fixed assets, inventory or projects systems sub-ledgers, working on feature requests, bug resolution and other enhancements to improve the productivity of the team. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business. + Perform month end close tasks related to PP&E area (e.g., FA ledger close, capex accruals, etc.). This includes but is not limited to manage asset creation and retirement processes, provide commentary for flux analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis, book journal entries for your related process, partner with business for new-process/product-implementations. + Prepare and present financial information to different audiences, including finance leaders, business partners, auditors and regional accountants. + Find efficiencies in the processes through elimination, automation and sourcing, while supporting system-implementations as a subject matter expert in fixed assets. + Support SOX controls for PP&E processes; run processes according to risk assessment and control frameworks. Escalate when risks are detected. + Work towards improvements of gFA processes to drive higher quality standards in the fixed assets register, reconciliations, and reporting produced for audits & close reporting.
