Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Analyst to join a dynamic and growing organization in the Overland Park area. In this role, you will focus on analysis, ensuring accurate financial reporting and reconciliation. You will collaborate with managers to analyze results, support budgeting efforts, and contribute to the development of efficient procedures. Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed profit analysis for assigned group and communicate findings effectively with staff and management.
• Compare actual financial results to budget expectations and address any variances.
• Record journal entries and perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Assist division teams with budgeting, procedural compliance, and accounting support.
• Develop and share best practices to enhance group execution and staff training.
• Investigate discrepancies in accounts receivable and accounts payable for assigned divisions.
• Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and documentation required for audits and tax compliance.
• Support internal audits and contribute to the development of procedural documentation.
• Provide system training and assist users with understanding financial system processes.
• Participate in special projects and corporate accounting tasks as assigned by management, prioritizing based on urgency and importance.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or agribusiness preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with financial systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial insights and recommendations.
• Ability to maintain accuracy while working in deadline-driven environments.
• Eagerness to analyze procedures and contribute to organizational improvements.
• Familiarity with general ledger processes, journal entries, month-end close, and bank reconciliations.
• Experience in audit preparation and profit analysis
