Sunflower Bank is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Accounting Analyst at our Plano, TX location.
The Accounting Analyst position is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of accounting entries, reports, and reconciliations, many of which utilize complex spreadsheets. These tasks involve assimilating data from various sources, updating spreadsheets and using analytical thinking skills throughout to determine their accuracy.
Managing prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and fixed assets/depreciation processingWorking with cash payments to third partiesPerforming and communicating financial statement variance analysis during the monthly financial statement close process in a time-sensitive manner Estimating the impact on financial statements of regulatory amendments, business model alterations, software conversions, etc.Preparing & remitting various state and local tax payments and returns as required Assisting with research on reconciliation discrepanciesResolving errors and issues to resolutionPerforming these and other activities within the control environment of Sunflower Bank.Education / Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting preferredDesire and aptitude to identify and investigate anomalies on financial reportsProven ability to work independently & be able to communicate conclusions to managementProven ability to look for improvements in efficiency or effectiveness of operational processesPay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.
