Overview
AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in DeRidder, LA. In this position you will be u nder the direction of the Operations Manager, to plan, establish, lead, control, and maintain systems and procedures to provide accounting controls over assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
Upon an offer and acceptance of employment with AMERISAFE, you will be required to complete our pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, a 10-panel drug test and, if applicable, a review of your motor vehicle report. A 10-panel drug test includes amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene.
Qualifications
+ A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
+ Must be detail oriented and organized.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Must be able to work on many different projects at one time (multi-task).
+ Ability to submit required reports in a timely manner.
+ Typing skills and knowledge of data entry procedures required.
+ Knowledge of general bookkeeping with experience with excel.
+ Strong respect for confidentiality.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in recording Journal Entries received from AMERISAFE’s accounting department.
+ Assist in processing and recording commissions payments to producers.
+ Assist in completing month end closing processes and reconciliations.
+ Assist in reconciling and record carrier commissions statements.
+ Assist in duties involving preparation of deposit slips and ledgers as well as revising ledgers to reflect corrections.
+ Assist in handling inquiries from companies.
+ Assist in processing refunds & check requests ensuring all appropriate approvals have been received.
+ Assist in reconciling bank statements.
+ Review, check and process incoming policies for accuracy.
+ Review, check and process incoming endorsements for accuracy.
+ Review, check and process all direct billed audits.
+ Follow-up and maintain ATPA renewal certificates.
+ Prepare and issue certificates of insurance as requested.
+ Monitor license renewals and compliance for the Wholesale Division.
+ Monitor Errors & Omissions coverage for Brokers of Wholesale Division.
+ Cross train other staff to assist in the accounting functions if necessary.
+ Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
+ Conform with and abide by all policies, work procedures and instructions.
+ Participate in seminars and classes for knowledge and skill development.
+ Perform other duties as required.
