Job Description
Timmons Group is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our Richmond, VA office location. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operations of the accounting group. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working collaboratively, and is eager to learn accounting-specific processes. The position is primarily in-office, in our Richmond headquarters. This position has the potential for cross training and growth within the accounting department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Administrative SupportCoordinate meetings, team events, and calendar schedulingManage incoming communications, including emails and phone calls, and ensure timely follow-upMaintain organized filing systems (digital and physical)Prepare internal documents and reports as neededAccounting Team SupportAssist with invoice processing, expense tracking, and data entrySupport reconciliation tasks and document preparation for auditsHelp maintain financial records and assist with month-end close activitiesLearn and apply accounting software tools and internal systemsProvide backup support for accounting team members during peak periodsSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Associates or Bachelors degree preferred, with a concentration in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics.Previous experience in accounting, administrative or office support role preferredStrong organizational and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)Willingness to learn accounting processes and toolsAbility to handle confidential information with discretion
