Description A real estate firm specializing in property management and development is seeking a motivated Accounting Assistant to join its dynamic team. This role supports the accounting department by handling day-to-day transactions while gaining exposure to the intricacies of real estate accounting. Key Responsibilities: + Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice entry, payment processing, and rent collections. + Prepare and reconcile bank deposits and account balances on a regular basis. + Maintain accurate records of real estate transactions, tenant correspondence, and property financials. + Support month-end closings, including journal entries and account reconciliations. + Generate reports for property managers and stakeholders, including cash flow and profit/loss statements. + Work closely with the accounting team to ensure compliance with real estate regulations and company policies. + Communicate professionally with vendors, tenants, and internal teams to resolve any issues or discrepancies. Requirements + 1+ years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in the real estate industry. + Familiarity with Yardi, AppFolio, or other real estate-focused accounting software is a major plus. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of basic accounting principles. + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. + High school diploma required; an associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach.
