Accounting Associate

MAU is hiring a Contract Accounting Associate for our client in North Charleston, SC. As a Contract Accounting Associate, you will support plant accounting operations by managing inventory reconciliation, processing accounts payable, and collaborating with production teams to ensure financial accuracy. This is a contract position for a short-term assignment lasting 6–12 months.
Benefits Package Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Shift Information Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM OR 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Required Education and Experience At least 1 year of experience in accounting or financial analysis, ideally in a manufacturing environment Preferred Education and Experience Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Experience with SAP General Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Familiarity with ERP systems Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Quick adaptability to new systems Effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization Initiative-driven approach to process improvement and problem-solving Essential Functions Collaborate with operations to review and resolve production paperwork discrepancies Confirm production orders and reconcile raw materials and activity postings in SAP Manage daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reporting and reconciliation Support physical inventory counts and track off-site inventory Own and manage the inventory transfer process between locations Coordinate local accounts payable activities using Coupa and SAP Serve as the primary point of contact for AP issues and troubleshooting Support monthly financial close activities, including production order reconciliation and variance analysis Identify areas for improvement in accounting and plant processes and assist with implementing enhancements Participate in special projects supporting business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives Working Conditions Fast-paced manufacturing environment with daily interaction between accounting and plant operations teams
