We are hiring an **Accounting Clerk** to join our **Finance** team at First Student, the leader in school transportation services.
**What You’ll Do**
As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly billing processes. Your key duties will include:
+ Preparing and reviewing customer invoices based on contract specifications.
+ Communicating with location personnel to verify billing details.
+ Reviewing customer contracts to identify billable services.
+ Creating and updating Excel-based billing models for routes, shuttles, and trips.
+ Reconciling invoices and supporting revenue variance reviews.
+ Maintaining the Fixed Asset register and assisting with other accounting tasks as needed.
**What We’re Looking For**
The ideal candidate will have:
+ **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
+ **Experience:** 2-3 years in accounting or billing, especially with service contracts.
+ **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas and file linking.
+ **Additional Skills:**
+ Attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
+ Familiarity with bookkeeping practices and transportation services is a plus.
