Our Client:
Our client is ACCES-VR, part of the NYS Dept. of Education and they are seeking an Accounting Clerk for one of their teams. This is a temporary position (W2 Only) in White Plains, NY and is an excellent opportunity for the right individual. The contract is expected to last approximately 6 months with a pay rate of $24/hr. This is an in-office role, so you must be commutable to White Plains. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
Who We're Looking For:
Do you excel at providing support to the accounting department of a business? In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, as well as other accounting functions within the department. You should have a good understanding of reconciliations, payment processing, and the ability to work with a variety of vendors for the District Office. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers will round out the right candidate for this role.
What to Expect as an Accounting Clerk:
Conduct reconciliations of all accounts as needed Process payments to vendors for the District OfficeCorrespond with and answer vendor questions Monitor vendor accounts and process/cancel payments Update and manage daily/weekly payment logs and spreadsheets Compile and prepare financial data for budgetary purposesReconcile accounts with bank statements and control ledgers, resolving any discrepanciesAssist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Administrative duties include filing, data entry, scanning, covering reception desk
Qualifications for Success:
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience 1-3 years related accounting or bookkeeping experience requiredKnowledge and understanding of GAAPStrong interpersonal and communication skills High degree of accuracy and attention to detailProficient software skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to learn programs specific to ACCES-VR
