Accounting Clerk
Description The Accounting Clerk is a key support role within the organization’s finance department, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and organization of financial data. This position provides administrative and bookkeeping assistance to the leadership team, contributing to the preparation of accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring the smooth operation of the department. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP): - Post vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner. - Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. - Attach supporting documentation (e.g., invoices, check images) to AP records. Accounts Receivable (AR): - Post customer payments, including ACH deposits and checks. - Assist with collections of outstanding receivables. - Update internal systems, such as Claim Leader, when appraisal payments are received. Credit Card Transactions: - Import and reconcile credit card transactions. - Ensure timely and accurate entry of expenses. Recordkeeping and Filing: - Organize and file receipts, invoices, and other financial documents. - Maintain digital records by attaching images to transactions in the accounting system. General Support: - Assist with the preparation of financial reports as needed. - Provide support to team members and other departments as required. - Perform additional duties and assist with associate-level tasks as assigned. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in accounting or related field preferred. Experience: - Prior experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is highly desirable. - Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) is a plus. Skills: - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work independently while also being a team player. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. - Strong communication skills, with the ability to ask questions and seek clarification when needed. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
