Accounting Clerk
Overview Fairweather's finance team is recruiting for Accounting Clerks to join our team. This position assists with correctly billing clients for time and materials, verifying and recording revenue transactions, and resolving account discrepancies. Established in 1976, Fairweather LLC is an Alaska-based service support company. That approach is directly responsible for Fairweather’s growth over the past four decades. Responding to the growth of the emerging oil and gas industry, Fairweather expanded its operations to include several highly sought-after support services designed to support exploration and production activities. These services include advanced logistics and drilling support, remote medical support, meteorological and oceanographic forecasting, aviation and airstrip support, and workforce staffing. Fairweather is owned by Doyon, Limited, an Alaska Native regional corporation and continues to be committed to meeting the industry's highest standards, ensuring the needs of every project are met safely and efficiently. This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Extended hours of work may be required as job duties demand. LOCATION: Anchorage, AK SCHEDULE: M-F, 8am-5pm Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepare general ledger accounts and bank account reconciliations. Maintain, organize, and update accounting records. Develop a working knowledge of agreements and contracts and provide rate validation for billing purposes. Use data and facts to make day-to-day decisions, involving others when necessary. Recognize potential problems and inform those who can address them. Identify the steps needed to carry out work requirements. Meet deadlines, organize work materials, and manage time effectively. Develop and manipulate complex Excel spreadsheets. Ensure that work is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Make continuous efforts to achieve results. Listen to others and ask questions to understand what is needed. Communicate the right information to coworkers respectfully and professionally. Maintain integrity and ethical behavior in all work situations. Report any ethical or compliance issues promptly and use discretion with private employee information. Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure important work is completed first. Meet deadlines consistently and take action to resolve problems as they arise. Accept responsibility and strive to meet expectations in all tasks. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, copy machine and scanners Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
