Accounting Clerk
We have an immediate opportunity as an Accounting Clerk to provide services at our Avon Business office. Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Clerk performs operations of a clerical nature involving preparing monthly journal entries, financial statements, ad-hoc reporting, account reconciliations, contract billing and collections, and other duties as assigned. This position is responsible for fluctuation and variance analysis of monthly financial statements. Essential Functions: + Regular and reliable attendance is necessary to perform the following essential functions of the position. + Preparing monthly journal entries and ensures journal entries include accurate general ledger numbers, business unit numbers, and signatures. + Runs monthly trial balance and completes monthly account reconciliations. + Completes monthly contract billing and completes follow up to ensure timely collection. + Generates financial statements and reports, distributes to appropriate departments. + Maintains a good working relationship with office staff members and others throughout the organization. + Performs analysis of fluctuations and variance of monthly financial statements. + Completes annual personal property tax returns. + Maintains fixed asset records. + Adherence to and promotion of the Corporate Compliance Program at Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. + Performs other clerical and accounting duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience: + High school diploma, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. + Three years accounting experience or demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications + Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: General Financial Accounting Skills: General knowledge of accounting standards and best practices; Understanding of and ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; Ability to work independently.
