Accounting Clerk
**Accounting Clerk** **Job Summary** : The Accounting Clerk supports the accounting department in handling Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, as well as performs other related functions as assigned. **Essential Functions** : 1. Manages the expense reporting process via paper expense reports and online expense reports, including adding and removing new users to the online system; training employees on submitting reports; and running reports and entering the information in the ERP system. 2. Creates checks from invoices and expense reports and mail them to vendors and employees once a week. 3. Initiates wire transfers and ACH every other week. 4. Files documents such as invoices and expense reports. 5. Handles Accounts Payable and Receivable tasks including checking AP aging; processing invoices and entering details in the ERP system; cutting checks; voiding and reissuing checks; and setting up new vendors for payment. 6. Maintains customer records and credit limits and notifies Inside Sales employees of the credit report amounts. 7. Communicates with employees, customers, and vendors regarding payments. 8. Sends shipments via carrier (UPS, Fedex, USPS) and sending certified documents and delivering mail to each department/employee. 9. Prepares 1099 for vendors at Shinsho locations and its affiliates. 10. Performs other duties from time to time as assigned by management. Job duties may change at any time with or without notice. **Skills and Qualifications** : 1. An Associate Degree, preferably in accounting or related field required. 2. At least one year of accounts payable and/or accounts receivable experience preferred. 3. Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required. 4. At least one year of accounting system experience preferred. **Work Environment and Physical Demands** : This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. **Position Type/Expected Hours of Work** : This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours worked are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position may occasionally require longer work hours and weekend work.
