Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper
Manpower is seeking a bookkeeper. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records for an accounting office. This temporary position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with financial software and have the ability to handle a variety of accounting tasks efficiently. **Job Title** : Bookkeeper (Temporary Placement) – Accounting Office **Location** : Greenup, KY **Job Type** : Part-time (Temporary/Contract Position) **Pay Range** : $12-$13 **Key Responsibilities:** + Maintain Financial Records: Record and classify financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. + Prepare Financial Statements: Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements, for internal and client use. + Reconcile Accounts: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations. Investigate discrepancies and resolve any issues in a timely manner. + Process Payroll: Assist in processing payroll for the firm or clients, ensuring accurate calculations of employee wages, taxes, and deductions. + Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: Monitor outstanding invoices, process payments, and follow up on overdue accounts. Ensure that all incoming and outgoing payments are recorded accurately. + Prepare Tax Documents: Assist with the preparation of tax-related documents, including tax filings and reports. Ensure all necessary documentation is in place for tax season. + Maintain Financial Records and Files: Organize and maintain financial records, invoices, receipts, and other important documents in an orderly and accessible manner. + Support Audits: Assist in preparing for audits by providing requested financial documents and ensuring records are accurate and up to date. + Other Bookkeeping Tasks: Provide general bookkeeping support as needed, including financial analysis and assisting other accounting team members with specific tasks. **Qualifications** : + High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred). + Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accounting assistant, or in a similar role. Experience working in an accounting office is a plus. + Proficiency in QuickBooks + Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. + Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others. + Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with payroll processing and tax filings. + Familiarity with business accounting processes for small to mid-sized firms. + Experience with accounting for multiple clients or in a client-facing environment. **Work Environment:** + Office-based role in a professional accounting office. + Part-time hours during the temporary placement + Temporary position with the possibility of extension based on client needs and performance.
