Job summary
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for ensuring that the financial controls, books, records, and reporting of the hotel are accurate, current and in compliance.
Essential duties and responsibilities – (Key activities)
· Assist in preparing comprehensive daily reports of the hotel in established corporate formats and accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
· Verify that the accounting and other related department operations are being performed according to hotel procedures.
· Assist in ad hoc projects and audits.
· Participate in commission processing following the hotel standard procedure
Other standard responsibilities
· Complies to the company policies.
· Takes on other tasks in addition of the ones stated, in a reasonable framework.
· Develops and updates policies and manuals, as related to the division/department, for implementation in the field, while ensuring compliance to the same for consistency across the group.
· Conducts self in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Rosewood and encourage staff to do the same.
· Is a “brand ambassador” at all times and ensures brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
· Models the company’s culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
Required skills
· Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines for financial reports.
· Must have a high degree of professional integrity, and be able to work safely, effectively and efficiently.
· Must be able to maintain good relationships with all departments in the hotel to promote effective internal control and financial advisory role.
· Must have the ability to communicate, and the commitment, to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures.
Qualifications
· University / college graduate with major in Accounting
· Additional improvement programs in Finance is preferred
Experience
· Thorough knowledge in accounting principles and procedures.
· Ability to assist in the preparation of financial reports or operating statements
· Knowledge in relevant hotel policies
· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
· Ability to guide associates and resolve problem referred
· Ability to liaise with department as required
· At least 3 years working experience in international class hotel
· 5 years working experience in a similar capacity is preferred

Pay
The pay scale for this position is between $28.10 and $33.10/hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
Decisions regarding individual rates will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel luxury experience and/or Fine Dining Restaurant Experience.
