The Accounting Director oversees and manages all financial and accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, accurate financial reporting, and efficient financial management. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, financial analysis, and leadership, along with exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Supervise and direct the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledgers. Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations to senior management. Manage the preparation, presentation, and analysis of all financial reports and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Oversee the audits of financial statements and internal control procedures, coordinating with external auditors. Maintain vendor master files in NetSuite in regards to W9 accuracy & vendor payment methods Prepare and process annual 1099 & 1096 Tax filings Set up Bank Templates for ACH & Wires for domestic and international vendors Upload Positive Pay reports weekly for Checks Present monthly and quarterly account reconciliation summary to management. Manage relationships with banks, investment firms, and other financial institutions, ensuring adequate funds for operations and financing needs. Review contracts, agreements, and leases to analyze financial terms and implications, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Ensure that financial and accounting activities are aligned with the company's overall strategic goals and objectives. Monitor and analyze performance metrics and financial trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial expertise and guidance to support decision-making processes. Maintain current knowledge of accounting regulations, trends, and best practices,advising management on potential implications. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred. 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Proven track record of managing financial operations, developing accounting policies and procedures, and overseeing financial reporting and analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and team members. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with accounting software and ERP systems such as MS Dynamics, Netsuite or SAP Adaptability, flexibility, and ability to deal with ambiguity and constant change · Effectively leverage resources to solve business issues and prove value. Use time management techniques to plan and execute complex tasks Practice effective listening and communication skills Champion innovation and continuous improvement throughout the organization Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
