About you and this role Dowhas an exciting opportunity for anAccounting Directoron the Corporate Consolidations team located inMidland, Michigan. This role is a key position within Financial & Statutory Accounting/Consolidations with responsibility for a variety of consolidation activities including M&A consolidations oversight, investment and equity review and elimination, intercompany profit in inventory, financial analysis and various consolidation reporting and closing responsibilities. Responsibilities + Serve as the Consolidation focal point on merger, acquisition, and divestiture project teams while working with accountants across various sub-functions within Controllers to ensure the transactions are accounted for appropriately from a consolidated perspective. + Work closely across geographies and functions to consult as needed on special transactions and projects such as legal entity rationalization and restructuring projects. + Facilitate pre-close communications to ensure awareness and alignment between Tax, Consolidations, and Corporate Controllers on all significant transactions. + Various reporting deliverables on a monthly/quarterly basis including the global preparation of Acquisition, Divestiture and Cash Flow reporting, balance sheet fluctuation analysis, unusual transaction reporting and Other Income & Expense reporting – providing timely updates to management throughout closing. + Monthly review of investment and equity eliminations within Consolidations. + Monthly review of intercompany profit in inventory. + Participation on several leadership teams. + Maintain close working relationships with Tax, Financial & Statutory Accounting, Corporate Controllers, Audit and various other partners. There is often other project related work, which at times involves accounting research, and is driven by special transactions, process improvement initiatives and changes in accounting guidance. Qualifications + A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking. + A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience. + A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Your Skills + CPA is helpful, but not required + Translate experience and knowledge to effectively contribute to the team’s overall objectives, challenge prevailing assumptions when warranted and suggest better approaches + Apply analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills + Action biased with the ability to overcome obstacles + Accounting: Deep understanding of Dow’s accounting structure, processes and businesses. + Generally Accepted Accounting Principles: Strong foundation in US GAAP accounting. + Project Management: Excellent organizational and project management skills. + Strategic Thinking: Detail oriented and strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and manage changes. + Communication: Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. + Time Management: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines and significant amounts of data + Collaboration: Collaborate effectively cross-functionally Additional Notes Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
