How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

As a Finance & Accounting Manager, under the guidance of the Sr. Director of Finance and in alignment with corporate policies, the Finance & Accounting Manager delivers accounting and analytical support to the business by applying accounting principles to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
Oversee general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and comprehensive financial statements, such as balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting records through thorough preparation, recording, analysis, and reporting of accounting transactions, in compliance with established accounting policies and principles. Support financial planning efforts, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, to support strategic decision-making. Manage and document accounting projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with regulatory standards. Implement and uphold accounting principles and standards to effectively control the organization's financial resources, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and reporting requirements. Oversee inventory cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records and optimize resource management. Provide technical accounting expertise to operational managers, assisting them in developing revenue and expense budgets and interpreting financial reports. Enforce compliance with accounting and auditing policies and procedures, communicating changes and updates as necessary. Prepare and oversee consolidation journal entries, eliminate intercompany transactions, and ensure timely and accurate consolidation of divisional and subsidiary financial accounts for both internal and external financial statements. Supervise and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering their development and ensuring high-quality performance in various financial activities.

Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in public and/or manufacturing accounting Demonstrates strong understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley / internal controls Understands inventory management concepts and controls
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Exhibits a proactive approach and a commitment to continuous improvement Possesses strong critical thinking and analytical skills Efficiently manages time, resources, and tasks to optimize productivity Communicates effectively through written, verbal, and interpersonal interactions Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel and data management techniques Experience in IFS, OneStream, Sage, and Vertex is a plus

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
