Overview This is a business internship supporting the Regulatory Accounting department. The intern is responsible for a variety of accounting duties including journal entries, monthly account reconciliations and system support as necessary. The summer position is a full-time hybrid role, with the possibility of continuing part-time (~ 20 to 25 hours/week) during fall and spring semesters and full-time (40 hours/week) during summers. The company will be flexible in the part-time work schedule (8am-5pm - Monday-Friday) based on the student's class schedule. Responsibilities Must have a basic understanding of financial and accounting theory / principles. Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Provide assistance in the monthly closing process. Compile and organize data for reports. Create and maintain files. Work with operational and financial employees to gather financial information. Plan and develop financial reports and analysis using Excel, BMI, Infor and/or MicroStrategy. Perform other duties as directed by manager. Qualifications Completed freshmen year of undergraduate studies with declared major in Accounting. Currently enrolled in school full time (minimum 12 credit hours/semester). Must possess strong computer skills and Excel experience with spreadsheets. Familiarity with PowerPoint and Word are desired. Good communication skills are a must, both written and verbal.
