Accounting Lead, Core Business GL

As an Accounting Lead, you have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, and a strong motivation to drive processes that contribute to the achievement of an efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting processes. You pay great attention to detail, have the ability to deliver results under deadlines, and work effectively in a rapidly changing environment. What You'll Do

Responsible for preparing and/or reviewing workpapers, journal entries, and reconciliations for key accounts in the Core Business area of Card Accounting Work with Treasury and Issuing Engineering to ensure accurate monthly reconciliation of Virtual Card and Affirm Card Reserve Accounts Work with the Bank Partnerships team to ensure accurate monthly reconciliation of Affirm Program Receivables with our external Bank Partners You will conduct flux analyses and align on business drivers with cross-functional partners including Strategic Finance, Strategic Partnerships, Credit, Issuing Engineering and Affirm Card Engineering Prepare schedules for Quarterly SEC reporting,  and support internal and external audit requirements related to specific assigned areas Proactively review current procedures and seek ways to improve processes to ensure timely monthly close, accuracy of accounting entries, and operational efficiency Partner with cross-functional teams to incorporate new transactions or processes into the GL

What We Look For

4+ years of relevant professional experience is required (public accounting experience preferred) CPA required (may consider candidates on track to earn their CPA in the near term) Solid understanding of US GAAP, and ability to partner with the Technical Accounting team on accounting policy implementation and adherence Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (such as VLOOKUPS & conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, what-if-analysis) SQL experience or strong interest in developing SQL skills preferred Excellent project management skills and ability to foster cross-functional collaboration to drive meaningful improvements to the close process The desire to improve processes and make your own job easier over time, taking ownership of all aspects of your functional area Passion for Affirm and a strong interest in technology

Base Pay Grade - I

Equity Grade - 5

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $115,000  -  $155,000         

USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $102,000 - $142,000
