**The team you will be a part of**
The Accounting team establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports.
**This role in summary**
Whirlpool is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a critical Accounting Manager, Business Unit Services role for our InSinkErartor business unit located in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. The selected candidate will report into the North America (NAR) Controller. The Accounting Manager is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for the oversight and management of all Record to Report (RTR) and Procure to Pay (PTP) activities for the InSinkErator business unit. The position acts as a key business partner to the InSinkErator finance teams and provides leadership and direction to the RTR and PTP delivery teams, which includes overseeing the work performed by our off-shore service provider (Accenture).
This individual is also a key member of the global accounting team and will work closely with and interact with multiple stakeholders in driving company-wide performance. Working directly with international teams across Whirlpool, including External Reporting, Internal Reporting, Policies and Procedures, Corporate and Regional Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, Treasury, and Operational Finance to deliver monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables as well as driving opportunities to enhance the financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting acumen, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. \#LI-DD1
**Your responsibilities will include**
**Record to Report (RTR) Management:**
+ Manage and own monthly and quarterly accounting close processes under US GAAP while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
+ Oversee the delivery of RTR services, manage the performance of Accenture’s off-shore team, drive continuous improvement, and support issue resolutions.
+ Manage general ledger activities, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
+ Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, data consolidation, and analysis for InSinkErator.
+ Collaborate with external and internal auditors and maintain effective internal controls.
**Procure to Pay (PTP) Management:**
+ Support Accenture’s off-shore team on issue resolutions and review of PTP transactions.
+ Managing the monthly AP-related accruals processes for outstanding payables.
+ Support process improvement initiatives while ensuring adherence to policies.
**Team Leadership and Management:**
+ Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and direction to the Accenture RTR and PTP delivery teams
+ Oversee the quality of work produced by the Accenture team and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
+ Proven ability to lead teams, exercise discretionary and decision-making authority over strategies, policies, quality standards and closing process.
**Process Improvement and Compliance:**
+ Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of RTR and PTP processes.
+ Promote a process-oriented culture: Foster a culture of process excellence, ensure alignment across functions, provide training, and build relationships at all levels throughout the organization.
+ Participate in system implementation and other finance projects when needed.
**Minimum requirements**
+ Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management or Business
+ 5+ years of professional experience in Financial Accounting and Reporting
**Preferred skills and experiences**
+ CPA
+ Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal control principles.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle is preferred).
+ Experience with managing 3rd party service providers and/or remote teams is highly desirable.
