Accounting Manager, Finance and Business Integration (FBI)
Amazon.com
This role supports the growth and tax compliance initiatives for the Latin American (LATAM) regional business. These cross-functional programs within the LATAM region provide opportunities to learn about Amazon's consumer business. The role requires collaborating with functional and local statutory accounting teams in the LATAM region, as well as partnering regularly with teams like tax, governance and compliance, treasury, and finance.
This role also has the ability to influence the tech teams that have dedicated resources for automation. You will be in direct control of prioritizing automation efforts, working with stakeholders to identify and address new and existing issues, and maintaining an up-to-date priority list. This means high visibility with business and accounting leadership on the continued progress of solving unique problems stemming from Amazon's evolving environment and upgrading historical systems.
Most launches can have significant new requirements based on the emerging countries involved and/or the need to span multiple technology stacks. These new requirements often lack established practices and precedents, requiring this role to build non-standard requirements from scratch. You will be expected to make complex risk-based judgments and influence stakeholders by demonstrating a deep understanding of Amazon's legal entity structure, operational processes, accounting concepts, and systems across ordering, marketplace, inventory, payments, and financial ledger platforms.
Job responsibilities:
• Work independently to manage projects within the LATAM programs that require detailed design discussions.
• Coordinate with stakeholder teams across multiple organizations and regions to establish and maintain strong communication channels, and improve internal processes/controls as well as external partnerships.
• Work towards automating user acceptance testing (UAT) and accounting requirement document (ARD) creation for multiple high-visibility projects.
