Title: Accounting Manager, North America Region
Location: Atlanta, GA (hybrid – 4 days/ week onsite)
Position Summary
The Accounting Manager in the North America (“NAMER”) Controllership team is responsible for managing and owning various responsibilities related to closing the general ledger for entities based in our North America region. This will include working with stakeholders (both internal and outsourced) to achieve timely and accurate results and utilizing strong technical accounting skills to ensure that transactions are appropriately accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for managing and reviewing in-depth account reconciliations for the balance sheet.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Manage various resource teams around multiple accounting processes in order to complete period end closes. The goal would be to learn and understand a process from beginning to end and then manage the process and address issues as they arise.
Prepare and/or review both recurring and adjusting journal entries as necessary.
Review and approve transactions and monthly/quarterly consolidation accounting tasks including intercompany-related activity.
Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations.
Coordinate directly external auditors and internal auditors with their reviews of various journal entries and/or account reconciliations.
Train other NAMER Controllership team members to perform their roles & functions as needed.
Assist in any other special projects as requested.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Licensed CPA (or equivalent)
6+ years of related corporate accounting experience in a large multinational company
Experience in US GAAP accounting and reporting
Microsoft Excel advanced user
Ability to use a variety of software programs and tools to analyze and work with large data sets and accomplish tasks efficiently
Strong analytical skills, ability to research issues in a complex accounting structure to resolve problems; detail-oriented, yet able to identify issues and grasp concepts at broader level
Must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to work with a variety of individuals in both team and self-directed environments
Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of management
Ability to work within defined time constraints and within deadlines during month end financial close while driving longer-term projects to successful completion
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with Oracle Cloud and Tableau tools
Industry / corporate accounting experience
Experience with Oracle ERP (On-prem and/or Cloud) or SAP Business Objects
Experience supporting an outsourced relationship
