We are seeking an Accounting Manager for Tax/Fixed Assets to oversee all aspects of our tax and fixed asset accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on tax compliance and fixed asset management, and will be responsible for leading a team of tax staff accountants.
ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership:
Manage, train, and develop tax staff accountantsReview the work of tax staff accountantsEnsure timely and accurate filing of returns and completion of tasks in accordance with applicable regulations and deadlinesSales Tax Compliance:
Review monthly sales tax filingsConduct sales tax research across various states and transactionsMaintain accurate sales tax calculations within the ERP systemFixed Assets:
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset ledgers and supporting schedulesCreate new fixed asset records with appropriate classifications, useful life, salvage value, and depreciation methods for all book and tax ledgersProcess fixed asset record disposalsAdditional Responsibilities:
Facilitate tax projects and manage relationships with outside tax providersStay current on new tax legislation and determine appropriate courses of actionConduct timely research on tax issues and questions, and determine appropriate actions, including journal entries, proposing new policies and procedures, and coordinating with IT to address issuesMonitor compliance with policies and procedures of various taxing authorities and company standardsFacilitate tax audits and compliance matters QualificationsRequired:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting5 + years of accounting-related work experience for a public accounting firm and/or for an SEC registrant Knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting principles and practicesAbility to work with diverse people/personalitiesAbility to handle and resolve interpersonal conflictAbility to perform in a fast-paced, stressful work environmentAbility to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employeesAbility to travel on a limited basis and work flexible hoursExemplifies Titan Machinery’s Core ValuesKeen attention to detail, high level of initiative, and the ability to work independentlyDemonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines efficientlyExcellent organizational skillsStrong computer skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeStrong decision making and problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills
