About the Role:
This is a 15 month Fixed Term Contract Maternity Cover
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager will be an integral member of the Revenue Assurance team and part of RTR organization, assuming temporary responsibility over month end closing accounting activities for several business units, Zybooks, Hindawi Limited (UK) and Hindawi RO Srl (Romania). The successful candidate will oversee and complete the accounting month-end close process, account analysis, reconciliations, and balance sheet management with the focus around revenue assurance. Additionally, this individual will serve as the critical liaison for significant portion of revenue related requests from external auditors during quarter and year end close. This role will act as a support resource in the post-integration of Hindawi revenue and AR processes into SAP.
How you will make an impact:
Ensure financials are recorded in accordance with US GAAP and Wiley’s global accounting policies through preparation and/or review of standard monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliationsReview reconciliations of revenue interface postings from local ERP and/or SAP, working directly with Technology, FP&A, Accounting and colleagues in business operations to resolve any issues encountered and/or questions raisedWork with internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews/audits by preparing information requests and addressing inquiriesPrepare and Review balance sheet account reconciliations, rollforwards and analyses on a timely basis and ensure reconciling items and unusual items are resolved appropriately and timelyProvide guidance to, coordinate with, and manage 3rd party accounting firm responsible for Hindawi RO entity accounting, with the goal of having accurately and timely reporting results for the Hindawi RO entity in our financialsSupport post-integration of Hindawi Ltd. Revenue and AR feeds into SAP from NetSuiteEnsure that all relevant SOX controls are in place and functioning properly in accordance with internal policies and procedures and US GAAPAssist John Wiley & Sons Tax team and Statutory accounting team with inquiriesAssist with ad hoc accounting analyses and reportingWhat we look for:
5+ years of experience in a progressive accounting environmentSAP, Xero and/or Blackline experience is a plus!Public audit experience is preferred but not requiredSignificant knowledge and keen understanding of general accounting transactions and processesWell-rooted understanding of general accounting principles, concepts and processesProficient in using MS Office suite, specifically ExcelStrong written and verbal communication skillsDynamic candidate who demonstrates initiative, is results oriented, and flexibleSalary Range:
