Accounting Manager
Description Growth opportunity- We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join a trusted manufacturing company in Lafayette, Indiana. This is an exciting opportunity to lead financial operations within a well-established organization, known for its commitment to excellence and collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will manage and optimize accounting processes while ensuring compliance and accuracy. This position is open due to an upcoming retirement this year and is built for succession planning. Responsibilities: • Oversee month-end and year-end financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Manage daily cash flow operations and maintain cash forecasting to ensure liquidity across divisions. • Prepare and review account reconciliations to maintain general ledger accuracy. • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, providing guidance to support staff for efficient workflows. • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 capabilities. • Lead and mentor accounting team members, fostering collaboration and detail-oriented growth. • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies, maintaining accuracy in records and meeting deadlines. • Collaborate with divisional teams to align financial processes with organizational goals. • Monitor and report on key financial metrics to support strategic decision-making. Requirements • Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles. • Proven expertise in managing month-end close, reconciliations, and cash management. • Prior experience in manufacturing or logistics industries is preferred. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar accounting systems software packages) and Microsoft Excel. • Strong knowledge of cash flow forecasting and financial reporting practices. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plus. • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor team members effectively. • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvement.
