Description Job Description: Accounting Manager (CPA Required – Hybrid in Washington, DC) My client is hiring an Accounting Manager who will oversee the daily accounting operations ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and high standards of financial reporting. This role requires an active CPA designation and is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Accounting Manager will play a vital part in managing a team, streamlining processes, and collaborating across departments to support strategic goals. Key Responsibilities: + Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accurate and efficient completion of tasks while fostering development within the team. + Accounting Operations: Oversee general ledger activities, month-end and year-end closings, and reconciliation processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. + Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and oversee audit processes, including coordinating with external auditors. + Process Improvement: Implement strategies to improve accounting workflows, leveraging technology to enhance processes. Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel is highly desired. + Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate on annual budgets, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure organizational goals are financially achievable. + Special Projects: Lead or participate in financial projects, including system implementations and policy revisions. Requirements Qualifications: + Active CPA license required. + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA a plus. + 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 in a managerial role. + Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements. + Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. + Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Work Schedule: + Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in Washington, DC office and 2 days remote.
