Accounting Manager
Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to oversee and enhance financial operations in our Houston, Texas office. This role requires a meticulous individual with extensive experience in corporate accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will excel at managing multiple priorities, optimizing processes, and leading a team to ensure timely and accurate financial data processing. This role is a mix of accounting management and implementing some additional financial planning and analysis functions. Responsibilities: • Supervise daily finance operations, including oversight of accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions. • Manage the month-end closing process by evaluating account balances and preparing necessary journal entries. • Identify opportunities to improve systems and procedures, implementing corrective actions or updating standard operating procedures as needed. • Provide leadership to team members by setting goals, offering consistent training and feedback, and fostering positive employee relationships. • Prepare and deliver detailed financial statements and analyses to senior leadership and company stakeholders. • Maintain effective and clear communication with vendors, customers, and internal team members. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and streamline processes. • Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned, ensuring adherence to organizational goals. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; advanced degree preferred. CPA a huge plus! • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or related functions. • At least 2-3 years of experience managing or leading teams. • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software, with NetSuite experience strongly preferred. • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, at an advanced level. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex financial issues. • Exceptional organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills.
