Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a long-term contract basis in New York, New York. This role requires a meticulous individual who excels at managing financial operations, preparing audits, and ensuring accurate reconciliations. You will play a key role in overseeing month-end and year-end closings, supporting tax filings, and producing comprehensive financial reports. Responsibilities: • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for thorough financial reviews. • Develop and maintain balance sheet schedules, including fixed assets, deferred revenue, and receivables. • Reconcile accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records. • Provide support for tax filings, particularly in relation to Form 990. • Create and manage financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. • Implement and refine cut-off procedures for financial closings. • Assist in the preparation of work papers and schedules to support audits and reviews. • Ensure cash reconciliation processes align with organizational standards and practices. Requirements • Proven experience in managing month-end and year-end closings. • Expertise in general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation. • Familiarity with audit processes and documentation requirements. • Strong skills in account reconciliation and journal entries. • Knowledge of tax filings, especially Form 990. • Ability to manage balance sheet reconciliations, including deferred revenue. • Proficiency in creating detailed work papers and audit schedules. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
