Associa is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Soniat Realty branch in New Orleans, LA.The Accounting Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all accountingfunctions for community associations, rental properties, and related financial operations for the SoniatRealty Branch in New Orleans. Operating in a fast-paced, centralized accounting services environment,the Director ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial processes while supervising a team ofaccounting professionals. The role involves managing general ledger accounting, payroll, accountspayable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), financial reporting, and cross-departmental support. TheDirector will foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment aligned with the organization’scommitment to maintaining a \"Best Places to Work\" culture, reporting directly to the Branch Presidentwith a dotted line to Associa/Rhome Vice President of Accounting and/or Corporate Controller.

\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:
\n\nSupervise, mentor, and train a team of client accounting staff, ensuring highperformance, professional development, and accountability.\nConduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implementtraining to enhance team capabilities.\nOversee all general ledger (GL) accounting processes for community associations andrental properties, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP).\nManage and review the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports,including owner statements, management fee reports, and budget-to-actual analyses.\nEnsure timely and accurate payroll submissions every other week, including foroperations, accounting, and property managers.\nReview and approve A/P processes, including uninsured vendor billing submissions toAssocia and updates to vendor Certificates of Insurance (COI).\nManage billing processes, including monthly A/R delinquent condo owner statements,10-day demand letters, and collection processes for delinquent accounts.\nPrepare and distribute customized financial reports to support other departments,including budget-to-actual reports, cash flow projections, management fee sweeps, andad-hoc analyses.\nCollaborate with A/R, A/P, Data, Tax, and Investment teams to resolve issues andstreamline processes.\nOversee daily ACH processing, bank transfers, and positive pay uploads/approvals,ensuring accuracy and compliance.\nManage bank reconciliations (due by end of month), stop payments, voided checks, andresolution of outstanding check issues.\nOversee annual tax return preparation and filing, including review and processing of1099s for owners and vendors (in collaboration with Associa/RHOME team for IRSsubmission).\nLeverage software platforms (e.g., Complete Control for Communities [C3], RentManager, Appfolio, PowerBi, D365) to streamline tasks like payment posting, management fee invoicing, and financial reporting.\nOther duties as assigned\n\n\n\n Requirements\nKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and Microsoft Office.\nExperienced in general ledger accounting.\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.\nAbility to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and or boards of directors.\nExperienced in budget implementation.\nUnderstanding of AP transaction process.\nUnderstanding of AR transaction process.\nWillingness to grow and take on new projects as needed.\nPartner with multiple stakeholders, for example community managers, vendors, peers, clients.\nMust be able to prioritize, manage time, and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.\nMust be able to interpret verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.\nMust be able to communicate effectively and professionally on phone, email, and in-person.\nMust be able to operate general office equipment (copier, fax, phone systems, etc.).\n\n
