Accounting Manager
EF is currently seeking a knowledgeable Accounting Manager to join our team in Cebu. As an Accounting Manager, you will be a key stakeholder and help set our first Teaching Center in the Philippines, you will own a number of day-to-day tasks such as accounts payable, general ledger entries, intercompany invoicing, and processing of payments. To accomplish your job, you will work closely with the Cebu Center Director and several stakeholders and EF companies worldwide.  Efekta, a subsidiary of EF Education First, is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Accounting Manager with great communication skills to join our Finance team in Cebu, Philippines. As Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the accounting, payroll, tax and audits for our new entity in the Philippines. You will be the focal point for accounting and tax matters as well as aligning business activities according to local statutory requirements. You will be reporting to our Finance Director, Asia but will have daily contact with our Operations teams in the Philippines and Switzerland, as well as other functions and stakeholders around the world.

 Main responsibilities: Lead all finance and accounting activities for the center, including monthly, quarterly and yearly closing reporting.Responsible for any internal or external financial audit events.Manage tax and compliance.Produce financial statements and other reports on a regular basis. Communicate with external advisors.Prepare budgets and forecasts and prepare business cases to support decision-making. Lead process improvements and other internal projects. Play the role of legal affairs regarding contracts, agreements, and terms and conditions with third parties. Work closely with the business and support the Center Director in all business decisions. Requirements: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/ Accounting/ Finance or similar. Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance (international company is a plus).Good understanding of the accounting cycle and Filipino Taxation. Proven experience acting as Corporate Treasurer. Organized with attention to detail and a high sense of internal control. Ability to prioritize, meet challenging deadlines and perform under pressure. Strong leadership and good communication with positive mindset. Flexible and willing to accept new challenges. Comfortable with ambiguity. Strong competence in MS Excel.Previous knowledge in Oracle is a plus.Experience working with BPOs and language providers are an asset.Native in Cebuano (written and spoken) and business level English (written and spoken).
