David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the Accounting and Finance team at our Houston home office located at I-10 Katy Freeway and 610W. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounting, team member development, project management and leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead, manage and develop a team of 5 to accomplish team objectivesOversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports and ad hoc analysis  Conduct variance analysis of division, region and consolidated financial statementsReview/post journal entries daily and review balance sheet account reconciliations and budget revisions monthlyCoordinate the annual budget process, supporting operations managers in understanding and reporting their budgetsIdentify and drive process improvement, working with existing automation tools, and facilitate development and transition to new toolsRespond to questions from operations and senior management on a timely basis, providing a high level of support
QualificationsFour year degree in Accounting requiredAt least 5 years of management experience in an Accounting fieldAt least 3 years of financial analysis experienceStrong technical skills and ability to pick up new things quicklyProficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite requiredComfortable working with all levels of managementAbility to recognize and adapt communication style to needs of recipientStrong commitment to provide superior customer serviceJDEdwards and Essbase experience a plus
