Accounting Manager
Job Title: Accounting ManagerJob Description Seeking a full-time Accounting Manager who has insatiable curiosity, brings an engaging demeanor, enjoys coaching and mentoring teammates, and relishes problem-solving. Responsibilities + Prepare monthly financial statements and provide summary analysis and management commentary. + Manage monthly general ledger close. + Confirm revenue postings, including manufacturer-direct invoicing, are complete and accurate. + Perform general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and month-end accruals. + Post semi-monthly payroll entries and daily or periodic lock box, ACH, and credit card transactions. + Ensure compliance with GAAP and other Federal, State, and local policies. + Prepare and file 1099, 1096, Property Tax, and Sales Tax and Use Tax reports. + Reconcile and maintain Fixed Asset schedules. + Review, maintain, and establish internal controls necessary to produce timely and accurate financial reporting. + Monitor, manage, and forecast cash flow and cash requirements. + Set up and maintain ACH and wire transactions. + Reconcile and resolve account, customer, and vendor discrepancies. + Assist with process improvement and the migration to paperless workflow. + Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential. + Update job knowledge by participating in education opportunities. + Accomplish accounting and organization’s mission by completing related projects and exercises as needed. + Assist with other accounting department needs as required. Essential Skills + 5+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager, Cost Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller. + Thorough knowledge of applicable AR, General Ledger, and inventory process and systems. + Experience with AS400-based systems. + Minimum of 5 years of high-volume, full cycle accounting experience. + Advanced Excel skills. + Experience working in a multi-brand and multi-state environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with cost accounting. + Knowledge of reconciliation, month-end processes, and financial reporting. + Skills in forecasting and accruals. + Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable. + Experience with journal entries, balance sheet management, and inventory control.
