Nightwing, a $1.8 billion intelligence services company, is seeking an Accounting Manager for our general ledger group. Initially, this role will focus on (1) account reconciliations, analysis, and research, limited journal entry preparation, and other efforts to prepare for our 2024 external financial statement audit; (2) supporting several system implementations by participating in process design, testing, and training; and (3) process and control alignment across the enterprise. Once these systems are established, this role will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective management of our accounting processes. This role requires adaptable capacity to develop effective professional relationships with external and internal customers, and senior leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as an accounting interface with the ERP (Costpoint), payroll (ADP), and travel & expense (Chrome River) system implementation teams.
Manage a team of accounting professionals to execute accounting operations necessary for monthly accounting close processes; Lead the preparation, analysis, review, and discrepancy resolution of financial accounts representing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Apply conceptual knowledge, prior experience, and initiative to isolate and resolve issues.
Serve as a technical resource regarding system generated financial data, ERP system performance, or report preparation via business intelligence data interrogation tools.
Develop, implement, and administrate accounting controls and policies supportive of an appropriately robust internal control environment aligned with business requirements.
Lead efforts to support deliverables to internal or external parties, as required.
Required Skills:
A minimum of eight (8) years of related professional experience with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance OR an advanced degree in related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
Advanced Costpoint knowledge and practical experience; Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills are vital to this role, as is the demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Proficient knowledge of US GAAP; working knowledge of FAR and cost allocation methodologies.

Strong digital transformation and data analytic skills related to ERP transitions or deployments.
Active CPA license or desire to pursue CPA/CMA certification

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
