The Accounting Manager is a key role on the Corporate Accounting team supporting enterprise cash flow reporting, equipment lease accounting and financial statement preparation.

What You Will Do:

Lead 1 direct report in the monthly preparation of multiple cash flow statements including the Consolidated Statement of Cashflows for Caterpillar Inc.Financial accounting, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and footnote disclosures for Caterpillar SEC filings (i.e., 10-Qs/10-Ks).Work with Technical Accounting Managers to ensure complex transactions are properly reflected within the statement of cash flow.Participation on special projects and support of process improvement initiativesCommunicate effectively within the team and with internal and external customers and data providers, including presentations to all levels of management (e.g., Senior Director/CAO).Upon request, take part in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.Champion the use of new technologies and tools for analyzing financial data and driving efficiency improvements to monthly / forecasting processes.

What You Have:

Education/Experience: This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 6+ years of job-related experienceAnalytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

Professional Certification (Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or equivalent)Prior experience in Public AccountingKnowledge of the Caterpillar organization, its products, policies and procedures is a plusProven ability to manage large, complex accounting calculations/transactions
