Job Description
Supervised by the CFO, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the company's accounting database system. This role involves overseeing the Accounts Payable Department and Receptionist, performing various accounting tasks personally and through subordinate staff.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise the Accounts Payable Department and Receptionist.Process subcontract invoices and validate compliance issues such as insurance, certified payroll, and lien waivers.Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year-end close.Manage the annual 1099 filing process.Process daily deposits and follow up on past due clients.Manage lien waivers and ensure accurate and timely monthly and year-end close.Record and maintain entries for daily repair and maintenance work order information for the equipment yard.Maintain fixed assets records on Intuit software for financial reporting purposes.Assist the CFO in preparing required reports for monthly bank reconciliation, tax reports, and fiscal year-end audits.Prepare and file quarterly sales tax returns.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsProficient in ERP accounting software such as Sage 300 and SAP.Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable.Hands-on accounting experience, not just analysis.Familiarity with financial reporting, bank reconciliation, and general ledger.Experience with Timberscan and Textura (preferred).Understanding of construction industry accounting (plus).Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables.Excellent organizational and analytical skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsFull cycle AP/AR experience.A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related. Knowledge of cost accounting and financial statement preparation.Ability to prepare balance sheets and account reconciliations.Strong analytical and reporting skills.Work Environment
