Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Accounting Manager (on site in Bethel, CT) to join our amazing culture. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department as well as having a focus on FP&A reporting in support of management. The scope of the position covers all areas of general accounting along with maintaining and managing the flow of financial data into our ERP system (Business Central). The ideal candidate should be able to manage multiple direct reports, the month-end close, the financial statements, and multiple reporting requirements and deadlines. Also, the candidate should be able to manage the team’s relationships with other departments, as well as external stakeholders, such as auditors. A solid understanding of data structure and flow to be able to compile and analyze information to provide observations and suggestions for business purposes is necessary.

Manage the daily activities of the accounting staff (4 direct reports and 2 indirect reports) Manage month-end and year-end financial close processes, in accordance with the reporting schedule Calculate, review and approve journal entries Review account reconciliations; assist staff in the research and investigation of discrepancies where needed Monthly commissions calculation and submission Manage revenue reporting in accordance with revenue recognition guidelines Oversight of various analyses, including customer profitability, contract profitability, and utilization Be the supervisory contact for audits and audit requests Hire and train staff as needed; monitor and assess their performance on a regular basis Research, select and compile financial data from multiple sources, such as sales, operations, accounting, public sources or vendors. Analyzes this data to produce business information used to support decisions Actively identifies financial business processes that can be improved through technology and works with IT to build solutions to execute Various accounting projects and IT initiatives as assigned to accomplish department/company objectives
What You’ll Need
Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills Ability to develop talent, mentoring direct reports to learn and grow Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines Solid knowledge of financial information analysis using spreadsheets, databases, and other financial reporting software Strong understanding of financial statements and the general ledger Flexible, adaptable, detail-oriented and self-motivated
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required Minimum of 5 years of high-level accounting experience Experience managing multiple direct reports Must have intermediate/advanced experience with Microsoft Excel Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central a plus
