World Courier is a provider of premium logistics services and the leading global speciality supplier of transportation, storage and distribution services for multinational biopharmaceutical clinical trials. With approximately $560m turnover more than 2,500 employees in more than 50 countries, they combine their global reach with a local presence. 

Following the acquisition, World Courier’s Head Office has been relocated to London they are looking to establish a small and highly capable central accounting and finance team to oversee the finance function.

 Accounting Manager

The primary responsibilities for the role is to own and complete the month end reporting for the main UK management company which oversees the global relationships and be responsible for the completion of the statutory audit and accounts filings. The role will report to the Global Finance Controller and will also provide support with the monthly global consolidation. SAP is the primary accounting system and the role will require daily use of SAP.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly accounting for the Management company meeting close deadlines

Agreeing and posting inter-company revenues, costs, payroll and expenses

Ensuring an accurate balance sheet close, fixed assets, cash and bank and related reconciliations

Reviewing trial balance and providing explanations on main variances

Supporting the Controller with the monthly P&L and Balance sheet consolidations

Quarterly VAT return filings

Working on the annual statutory audit with E&Y

Annual Accounts filings

Assist with ad hoc projects

Candidate profile

Qualified or Part qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA)

Minimum experience of 2-3 years in monthly management accounting within Industry

Strong accounting systems experience in SAP

Confident with Excel

Experience of dealing in a multi-currency environment

Hands on and attention to detail

Used to working to deadlines

Flexible with strong communications and willingness to progress

The offices are based in Central London and the Company will offer significant opportunity to develop and progress in finance.
