The Accounting Manager will work in conjunction with the Senior Regional Controller to undertake and manage the financial and administration affairs of the assigned regions/company in accordance with Corporate Policy.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department to ensure accuracy of general ledger entriesSet up jobs, cost codes, billing markup rate tables for all new contracts and or work orders as requiredAssist operations with any job start up requirements Post journal entries, perform bank reconciliations and reconcile required general ledger accounts as requiredAssist operations with updates to jobs (i.e. productivity, change orders, cost codes)Perform month end process related to jobs (i.e. closeouts, profit recognition, unbilled work orders) and update of accounting WIP reportsAssist operations with preparation of any ad hoc reports related to job performanceResolve any vendor payment disputesAssist with collection of accounts receivable when requiredPlan, organize and undertake the period close process including preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.Ensure conformity with internal accounting policies and business processes as well as compliance with established internal controls, including approval requirements with a keen eye toward cost control and accuracySupport ongoing business planning and quarterly forecasting processes as well as annual strategic planning exerciseEnsure integrity of financial data and systems and adherence to Corporate reporting timelinesParticipation in annual external auditComplete and review month-end reconciliations and budget variance analysesManage cash flow and other company assetsProvide financial recommendations and ideas when new business initiatives are proposedCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of a diploma in Business Administration – Accounting or a degree in Finance CPA designation a requirementWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller/Sr. Financial Analyst position Prior experience in a construction or engineering company preferredSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
