Job Overview:
The Accounting Manager / Chief Accountant will assist the Finance Manager in maintaining the integrity of financial statements and overseeing internal and external reporting. The role involves collaboration with cross-border teams in Scandinavia, EMEA FP&A, and treasury departments in the UK and Hungary. Responsibilities include leading the accounting team in Denmark (with one supervisor), supporting month-end closing, managing VAT, audits, and other financial tasks, and assisting the Finance Manager in Denmark and Sweden.
You will also be responsible for the accounting tasks in our separate leasing entity, which involves ongoing cooperation with our car fleet and operational departments.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the financial results are correctly accounted and reported by:
Supporting the Finance Manager with the monthly financial close process and reporting of results to senior management.Supporting the Finance Manager control to facilitate a strong internal controls environment in the Scandinavian finance team along with review of controls in various other non-financial departments to achieve annual audit compliance.Delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting schedules for both internal and external reporting purposes.Performing analysis that serve as basis for improving performance in the business.Management of cashflow forecasting and working with EMEA Treasury to ensure that all financing needs and funding targets are met.Preparation and reviewing of monthly financials (incl. balance sheet reconciliations) and on-going review of processes to identify any efficiency savings and control opportunities.Coaching team members.Providing support and advise for other teams in the finance function on an ongoing basis.Key accountabilities:

A university or college degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Audit, Finance or similar. In Denmark e.g. HD-R (alternative cand.merc.), could also be merkonom combined with several years of relevant experience).Practical knowledge of Danish Accounting regulation, Danish VAT, Danish Tax.Good communication skills in local language and English.Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, communication and influencing skills. Keen interest in a high-quality response to the function’s customers.Experience:
Minimum 4-6 years of practical audit and accounting experience, e.g. from audit firm followed by experience in a finance / accounting department of company with international relations.Previous accounting experience with cash flow management, financial controls and especially month end reportingStrong IT and systems knowledge with advanced Excel skills and good experience of GL systemsFluent in Danish and English languageDesirable Experience:
